Which Gemstone? Here's a Clue ...

Drum roll, please ... We are especially inspired to design today because we were just invited to exhibit our jewelry at the Susan G. Komen Pink Promise Conference here in KC, March 25! This event is near and dear to my heart, and I am so excited to start designing. One of my best friends attends this emotional and inspiring event every year and she encouraged me several years ago to exhibit our jewelry here. I love that she planted that seed … and it grew … and now it’s happening! Chris found this new treasure for our jewelry library, Smithsonian Rock...

Happy Valentine's Day to All!

Happy Valentine's Day to All!

Here’s a pic of the sterling silver and copper hearts on my jewelry bench today. I love the excuse of Valentines to make hearts. I used to think I was “too cool” to make or wear them, but I changed when I had kids … and I changed another level when my dad and step-mom died. Now, love means a lot more to me. Here Comes the Sun

Here Comes the Sun

Sometimes these little reminders are exactly what I need to shift from feeling overwhelmed by...

Gift #1: More than Meets the Eye(s)

Gift #1: More than Meets the Eye(s)

Of the gifts Chris made for me, these earrings speak to me the loudest, and they seem to have quite a bit to say. I realize they are not everyone’s cup of tea, and I’m absolutely OK with that. They're really fun, silly even. They remind me of sea creatures popping out of colorful coral in an animated movie, music and all. My friend said they look like robots, which makes me love them even more. I love that they came out of Chris’s brain. I have proof they were preconceived, (see his sketches where the inspiration first hit him...

Gifts in the Making

Gifts in the Making

Chris doesn’t know I took this photo … it’s my view into the studio on Christmas Eve. He made me vow to stay out the days leading up to Christmas so I wouldn’t ruin the surprises he was making for me. 2016 was a wonderful and busy year for us, our busiest yet, and we were working away on gift orders well into the 3rd week of December. So when Chris decided to spend the last days before Christmas working in the studio, the timing was a bit tough. I would have liked his help prepping for the holidays, our...
