Our jewelry has a way of taking our lives into new territories and introducing us to new people. Our next event brings us to one of our favorite new areas of KC, and we hope you'll join us!
THIS SATURDAY, JUNE 29, 2019
9am to 3pm
LENEXA PUBLIC MARKET
We’re not the only ones who love Lenexa Public Market:
– Named "Best New Hang" on 435 Magazine's Best of KC 2018 list
– Named a "Favorite New Place" in KC Parent's 2018 Family Faves Contest
Read on for a few of our family's favorites at Lenexa Public Market ...
For the morning person: Check out Lenexa's Farmer's Market (opens at 8am), then visit our little traveling handmade jewelry shop inside Lenexa Public Market, and stay for breakfast at Red Kitchen Tamales. Chef/owner, Alejandra, (centered here between her mom and son), makes the world’s best breakfast burritos. We’ve tried each – you can’t go wrong – they’re all delicious! Don't just take our word for it, Food & Wine agrees, giving Red Kitchen Tamales the title, Best Burritos in Kansas, (see the story from Kansas City Star). If there’s a line, hop in, it’s worth the wait. I swear you can taste the love in her food. While you’re at it, bring home a batch of her tamales for dinner – you’ll be glad you did.
If burritos in the morning aren’t your thing, The Roasterie offers pastries, yogurt, and smoothies (plus, superb coffees, chai, and herbal teas, of course).
Want to sleep in Saturday? Stop by our jewelry stand, say hi, and stay for lunch -- there’s a little something for everyone with Topp’d Pizza, Madman's BBQ & icecream (Chris and I have yet to try these, but our boys give them two thumbs up), and some of our favorites:
Chewology -- East Asian eatery. As you probably know, we’re fans of things made by hand, and we’re in love with Chewology’s handcrafted artisanal dumplings, you’ve gotta try them! Their poke bowls are delicious, too. Their Pickles side expanded my pallet for pickled veggies -- so good, though I’m the only one in my family who really likes them (more for me, haha). If you have questions about the menu (also drawn by hand!), be sure to ask. They’re super helpful, and we’ve enjoyed everything we’ve tried. Bonus: kick back and enjoy their selection of wine or craft beer.
Sohaila's Kitchen – authentic Pakistani and Indian cuisine. I fell in love with this family when we set up our jewelry at Lenexa Public Market in November and lucked out to be next to them. Chef Sohaila’s children went out of their way to help me when I was in a bind. I couldn’t wait for Chris to arrive so we could support their little restaurant. Their butter chicken bowls & kabobs were so yummy and ideal comfort food, exactly what I was craving. Sohaila grew up in Lahore, Pakistan and she teaches cooking classes -- you can learn how to make authentic Pakistani and Indian cuisine from the master!
I enjoyed watching Chef Sohalia and her family interact with the other food makers and shop owners. I could tell all the merchants at Lenexa Public Market are one big happy family – which makes me love the place all the more. This establishment is filled with real people making a go of it on their passions and talents … and making it work. Something we are a wee bit passionate about ourselves.
We are thrilled to be a little part of it all this Saturday! Here's a sneak peek of some of the hand-stamped one-of-a-kind rings we'll have there:
